Who we are

CEDI - Center for Digital Government is the leading independent think tank on e-government in Denmark. CEDI conducts analyses, surveys and knowledge seminars on trends and specific issues regarding government and technology. As part of our day-to-day business, CEDI closely monitors political initiatives, specific IT-tenders and projects as well as new e-government trends in Denmark, the Nordic countries and the rest of the world.

CEDI was founded in 2003. The mission of CEDI is to support decision makers with expert advice and analysis on issues related to e-government. The founders of CEDI – Troels Andersen, Michael Karvø and Simon Hansen – all have a background in the public sector working with e-government issues and IT.

Areas of expertise

CEDI’s areas of expertise are e-government, modernisation and reform of the public sector. Examples of specific issues and questions, we have been addressing over the past years, are:

  • Digital leadership. What are the key issues to be addressed in relation to e-government? How can we prepare public sector managers for new tasks in relation to IT?
  • Policies on web standards and mail communication. How are web standards implemented and supported on public web sites? What is the policy of e-mail handling and response times at local authorities?
  • Trends in public IT-investments and IT-tenders. What is public sector spending on IT for the financial year 2007? Which technology trends are there in the public sector?
